What You Need To Know

How can I prepare for my treatment?

Expect that we'll be in contact to book your appointment and guide you through the steps of your treatment program.

It's worth noting:
- Have a light meal up to 1 hour before treatment, an empty stomach is not advised.
- It’s best to wear comfortable and loose-fitting clothing for body treatments.
- Avoid non prescribed vitamins that affect blood circulation and could result in bruising.

What is the treatment experience like?

We'll mark the areas to be treated on your body while you are standing upright. Once you're comfortably seated, a cool gel pad is applied for protection of your skin's surface area.

Then the applicator is attached to the treatment area, here you'll notice a strong suction feeling. Once the applicator is securely in place there will be a cooling sensation. After the initial 10 minutes this will transition to a numbness due to the low temperature and will last for the duration of your treatment.

When the cooling timer is up, the applicator is removed, and you'll notice the treated area is red, cool, and firm. We'll apply a warm towel and massage the area - this part feels great and relaxing and will assist with maximising results.

What can I expect after the treatment?

Since the procedure is non-invasive you can expect no downtime and can resume your daily activities as normal. For some it's normal for the treated area to feel tender with slight intermittent tingling or numbness for up to 2 weeks after the treatment.

Are there any risks or side effects?

Fat freezing is a safe and clinically proven procedure. Fat freezing is recommended for individuals at a healthy weight range - it’s not suitable for very overweight or underweight patients. When it comes to stubborn fat, we go by the quote: "if you can squeeze it, you can freeze it".

In the chosen treatment area, you’ll need at least 1cm for chin or 2cm for body, of subcutaneous fat (the soft, pinchable, outer layer) and it’s important to know cryolipolysis cannot treat visceral fat (hard, stocky and surrounds organs). Fat freezing on areas with less than the stated fat is not recommended, contact us for a consultation to discuss other fat loss services available.

If you have any one of the contraindications listed below, this treatment is not suitable:
- Skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, or rash
- Recent surgery, open or infected wounds or scar tissue of treatment area
- Hernia of treatment area
- A blood disorder or a combination of anticoagulant
- Cryoglobulinemia
- Paroxysmal Cold Hemoglobinuria
- A sensitivity to cold urticaria or Raynaud’s disease
- Peripheral circulatory failure of treatment area
- Neuropathy such as diabetic neuropathy or postherpetic neuralgia
- Cutaneous dysesthesia

If you're currently pregnant or breastfeeding you will also need to avoid this treatment. If you present with other conditions, we may ask you to refer to your GP or specialist for consultation and written approval to proceed.

Other normal aftereffects that may occur include itching, irritation, pigmentation, blistering, slight redness, tenderness, minor bruising, or numbness for up to 2 weeks after the treatment.
